The existing tarmac damaged yard in Doncaster had begun to break down under trafficking from heavy good vehicle and vans.
Nationwide Concrete Flooring from Goole in east Yorkshire was contracted to remove the existing yard and replace with a new external concrete hardstanding, suitable for the heavy goods vehicles. The steel fabric reinforced concrete floor slabs laid by the industrial concrete flooring contractors were 200mm deep and finished with an anti slip power floated concrete surface finish. Sawn induced joints were installed the following day, once the slabs had been spray cured using a dust inhibiting compound.
Great care was taken by the concrete contractors to allow minimal disruption to the client during the concrete flooring operations. Traffic management plans were put into place by the concrete flooring contractors to allow the 400m3 of concrete to be placed competently and safely throughout the two day concreting process.
