In order to meet the flatness tolerance of +/- 3mm over a 3 metre straight edge nationwide Diamond Group have been grinding the sports hall concrete floor slab in Scunthorpe.

The areas of the concrete floor slab are of low in tolerance require a different type of remedial action. These areas are filled with a latex material and once this has set the areas are ground to meet the tight tolerance.

The site engineers are in regular attendance to check and sign off our completed grinding work in order that no further complications are met from the sports hall flooring contractor.

As you can see from the photographs the levels are initially set out on the concrete floor slab. The photographs also show one of our multi plaining machines. The multi planers are used when extremely high sport requires removing.

The planers leave the concrete floor slab surface with a rough texture but are much faster than the concrete floor grinders when it comes to depth of 6mm or more.

Nationwide Diamond Contracts were contacted directly by a prestigious German engine manufacturer regarding the initial concrete floor surveying and grinding works to the internal warehouse concrete floor slab.

As you can see from the photographs the client had already installed the racking system and measurements were required  only within the aisles for the defined movement of the forklift. Once Nationwide Diamond Contracts had carried out the survey of the concrete floor within the aisles a report was sent to the client to ascertain the concrete floor slab grinding required.

The concrete floor slab grinding commenced the following day due to the urgent time scale of the client. Two days later all the remedial floor grinding had been completed, the floor was re sealed and ready for use.
