Nationwide Concrete Flooring has recently completed the construction of several new concrete floor slabs for development in the heart of the famous old Yorkshire town, Brighouse. The concrete floor slabs were carried out by the industrial concrete flooring contractor over a three day casting period utilising the Somero SXP – D laser screed concrete levelling machine. The laser screed helps to achieve flatness tolerances of FM2 as per the Concrete Societies TR34 2013 edition. Consulting engineer Jordan Pritchard Gorman from Leeds designed the cast instu concrete floor slabs to a depth of 175mm, reinforced with 1 layer of steel fabric reinforcement. The steel fabric sheets were laid in front of the Somero laser screed, without the need for any pre installation and or concrete pumping.
Nationwide Concrete Flooring’s concrete finishing team were powerfloating the industrial concrete slabs well into the evenings and early morning to create a beautiful smooth power floated concrete floor finish. On completion of the powerfloating process a Sika Proseal curing agent was sprayed over the slab to inhibit dusting of the concrete. Sawn induced saw cut joints were installed and sealed the following day using Instant Seal 101, the innovative saw cut joint sealant.
