Nationwide Concrete Flooring has recently completed the design and construction of a “jointless” steel fibre reinforced concrete floor slab in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. The sub base preparation (see sub base section on website) took just one day utilising the laser guided compact levelling machine. After surveying the working platform the tolerance was found to be +0/-5mm from overall datum. This fantastic tolerance was created due to the quality of the Nationwide Concrete Flooring machinery and operatives and also the superb material provided by the main contractor.
After the steel fibres were integrated into the mixer trucks the concrete was laser and levelled using the Somero laser screed. A dry shake toping and surface hardener was then monolithically bound into the surface of the concrete using the “ride on” power floating machines.
On completion of the power floating operation the “jointless” steel fibre reinforced concrete floor was sealed using Nationwide Diamond Curehard spray on membrane.
