A damaged concrete floor slab within a warehouse on the outskirts of Doncaster required re installing as quickly as possible in order for the tenant to continue trading throughout the contract period. Nationwide Concrete Flooring was contracted to carry out the removal and replacement of the concrete floor slab over a 2 week period from start to completion. The damaged concrete floors amassed a total area of 660m2 and averaged 235mm in depth reinforced with 2 layers of reinforcement. Nationwide the experienced concrete floor removal specialists used both excavators, full depth floor saws and tele handlers to remove the warehouse concrete floors in the agreed time period. The damaged concrete was then removed from the site utilising the hook loader vehicle and new concrete skips. The concrete sections were then crushed and recycled for use on another project.
The new concrete slab was reinstated using the Somero SXP – D laser screed in conjunction with a mobile concrete pump, used due to tight access restrictions. The new concrete floor slab was reinforced with steel fibre reinforcement along with a light grey dry shake topping surface hardener.
